Invited Speakers

This year, we are honored to feature Maria Teresa Rodó Cima, TU Wien alumna and Executive Vice President of Global Healthcare at Merck Group, as our invited speaker. With over 27 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, she leads Merck’s Global Healthcare Operations, championing sustainability and driving innovation in healthcare.

She will talk about her career path, opportunities, challenges, and valuable learning experiences as part of the Scientific Workshop.

Picture of Esther Heid

We are also pleased to feature Esther Heid as an invited speaker at the FemChem Scientific Workshop. She studied chemistry at the University of Vienna, completed her PhD in 2019, and conducted research abroad at the University of Maryland, Imperial College London, and MIT. Since 2022, she has been conducting research at TU Wien. Esther's work in computational chemistry and AI-driven molecular design has earned her prestigious awards, including the FWF START Award (2024) and an ERC Starting Grant. 

She will share her insights on AI in chemistry and her experiences as a woman in a male-dominated field during the Scientific Workshop.

Finally, we are honored to feature Brigitte Karigl as an invited speaker at the FemChem Scientific Workshop. She leads the Circular Economy division at the Environment Agency Austria and has been an expert in waste management, prevention, and recycling for many years. Her work focuses on advancing sustainable material cycles, particularly in the construction sector, where resource efficiency and circular design play a crucial role.
