Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry (IAS)

The IAS consists of three research divisions and nine research groups, which cover the field of chemical synthesis in its whole dimension, also at the interface of different disciplines. It currently hosts ~100 researchers and a large team of support staff on top. Being one of the most successful institutes in acquiring third-party funding at TU Wien, IAS currently hosts 4 ERC grantees (1 Consolidator & 3 starting) as well as one Christian Doppler laboratory besides a plethora of other national and international projects. The facilities at IAS are excellently fit to tackle any project involving synthetic chemistry in the broadest sense, even branching out to medicine, biology related fields as well as material science. For more detailed information, visit the webpages of our research divisions or research groups, which are always open to discuss new project ideas with partners from academia and industry alike.
