Research Interests & Fields of Activity

I have always been driven by a deep fascination for learning, creating from scratch, and expanding my understanding of the world. This passion has shaped my journey—from developing experimental setups during my diploma thesis and PhD to inventing new measurement devices, methodologies, and experiments.

In 2016, I founded a company as spinoff from TU Wien, focusing on pioneering development efforts. These included electrochemical (EC) in-situ set-ups for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolyze cell (SOEC) characterization, operando cells for neutron scattering combined with in-plane measurements, in-situ stages for gamma-ray experiments, and advanced synchrotron experiments, such as microelectrode stages or nano-tomography on solid-state Li-ion batteries under stress tests. Additionally, I developed high-temperature setups for various synchrotron facilities and research institutes worldwide, contributing to the advancement of specialized experimental techniques.

My work also involves the design and implementation of novel high-temperature cells and novel electrode architectures for electrochemical in-situ experiments. These are combined with techniques such as NAP-XPS, XRD, LASIL, isotope exchange, PVD/PLD, and oxygen pumping setups, enabling oxygen partial pressures ranging from 1000 mbar down to < 10⁻³⁰ mbar, among many others.
