Tamara did her PhD at Medical University of Graz (Austria) and UC Berkeley (USA) on the topic of lipid metabolism in cancer and graduated in 2018. During her PhD she mainly focused on the role adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL) in cancer metabolism and oncogenic signaling. The resulting PhD work was rewarded in 2019 with HP Kaufman Prize from German Society for Fat Research (DGF).

In the last year of her PhD she switch her focus from cancer metabolism to redox analysis, developed a novel method for glutathione ratio estimation and started investigating in more depth the adaptations of redox state in correlation to different pathologies, including cardiovascular diseases (herzfonds, opens an external URL in a new window).

Since 2018 Tamara has worked as a post doc at the Medical University of Graz and since 2019 as a senior scientist at TU Wien. In addition, she is an active member of the board of Austrian Proteomics and Metabolomics association APMA, opens an external URL in a new window. Since October 2019 she works only at the TU Wien.
