Thomas Konegger completed his degree in Technical Chemistry at TU Wien before graduating with a doctorate in Technical Sciences from the same university in 2010. After several years of post-doctoral work and a research stay in the USA (Clemson University), Thomas Konegger successfully applied for the career position “Structural Ceramics” in 2018. In 2022, he completed his habilitation in the field of “Chemical Technology of Inorganic Materials” and was appointed Associate Professor of Structural Ceramics in the same year.

Thomas Konegger heads the Advanced Ceramics project team in the Inorganic Materials research group at the Institute of Chemical Technologies and Analytics. His research interests lie in the field of ceramic materials technology, with a focus on the development of new materials and manufacturing processes for applications in the areas of catalysis, energy and environmental technology.
