Univ.-Prof. DI Dr. Marko Mihovilovic was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Technical Chemistry on 01.01.2020.

After his diploma studies in Technical Chemistry and doctoral studies in Technical Sciences at the Vienna University of Technology, postdoctoral stays in Canda (University of New Brunswick) and Florida (University of Florida) followed. In 2003 Prof. Mihovilovic habilitated in “Bioorganic Chemistry”; in 2003 he was appointed head of the Institute of Applied Synthetic Chemistry; in 2004 he was appointed Associate Professor and in 2014 he accepted the professorship for Bioorganic Synthetic Chemistry at the TU Vienna.

Prof. Mihovilovic's research interests lie at the interface between chemistry and biology, bioorganic synthetic chemistry, the use of biogenic resources, the use of biological catalysts, drug development and medicinal chemistry.
