Univ.-Prof. Dr. Andreas H. Farnleitner holds diplomas from University of Vienna, TU Wien and Medical Uni Wien. He got full professorships at Karl Landsteiner University for Health Sciences, Krems (2017) and at TU Wien (2021, joined professorship).

He is co-heading the Interuniversity Cooperation Centre for Water and Health (ICC Water & Health, www.waterandhealth.at, opens an external URL in a new window) and is faculty professor of the “Vienna Doctoral Programme on Water Resource Systems" (www.waterresources.at, opens an external URL in a new window).

The core research interests of AHF focuses on molecular detection of microbial quality indicators/pathogens and the development of new strategies for health-related pollution analysis of water resources. He likes interdisciplinary challenges, such as linking faecal pollution analysis, infection risk assessment, and dimensioning of water safety measures, addressed within the ICC Water & Health.
