For our research group, the primary focus is on the evaluation and optimization of complete CCS/CCU chains. We employ a multi-scaled approach to assess both established and emerging technologies at each stage of the CCS/CCU systems, considering factors such as efficiency, cost, environmental impact, social benefits, and integration potential. By combining a superstructure-based model with a life cycle optimization approach, our aim is to develop integration scenarios for CCS/CCU technologies across various industrial sectors, with a specific focus on the short-to-mid-term perspectives of Austria and Europe.
