In this seminar/design course, students develop integral planning concepts characterized by innovative and prototypical solutions in architectural, structural, and energy planning aspects.

Contents

  • Developing an integral planning concept in teams consisting of two architecture students and at least one civil engineering student.
  • Designing solutions, modeling, and simulations of the structural framework.
  • Creating and exchanging BIM/FEM building models, including the transfer of parametric 3D models after completing training sessions. The necessary software licenses will be provided.
  • All involved disciplines participate in solving the design task, modeling, and optimization, with each discipline having a clearly defined role to fulfill.

For several years, students from the BIM Design Lab have participated in the VDI competition 'Integrale Planung', opens an external URL in a new window and have won awards multiple times.
