The Dr. Ernst Fehrer Award for outstanding achievements in research was first awarded in 1982 and has since been an annual research award in the fields of Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Physics. The award was donated by inventor and industrialist Ernst Fehrer in order to promote science in technology, and is endowed with 7,500 Euros.
