Entrance exam procedure

For studies with entrance exam procedures, the number of available study places is limited. The entrance exam procedure takes place before admission to the respective degree programme.

These degree programmes have their own registration deadlines. If you miss the deadline, you will not be able to participate in the entrance exam procedure until the following year, as the ranking test is only held once a year before the start of the winter semester.

Admission

Admission to the degree programme is only possible after successful completion of the entrance examination and fulfilment of the admission requirements for the respective bachelor's programme.

Once you have successfully passed the entrance exam, you will have to complete the online registration by uploading all necessary documents. You are NOT required to come personally to the Admission Office! The admission will be carried out online. Once your application has been approved, you will receive an email with all the necessary information. Afterwards you will have to pay the required ÖH-/tuition fee to complete your enrolment. Your student ID card (TUCard) will be sent to you via post to the address you provdided in your online application.

Lateral entry into the degree programme

If you are already studying Computer Science, Architecture or Spatial Planning at another university and would like to continue your studies at TU Wien, please inform yourself about the lateral entry into the degree programme.

Aptitude Procedure (Programme-PRe-Phase)

The study preparation and reflection phase (Programme-PRe-Phase) is intended to serve all prospective students as a decision-making aid for a study programme, as well as a preparation for entering the chosen study programme. The structure and the individual parts of the aptitude procedure are adapted and determined by representatives of the respective degree programme and must be completed before admission to the degree programme.

NOTE!
The online registration including the  Programme-PRe-Phase must be completed in full at the latest by September 5^th for the winter semester and by February 5^th for the summer semester! Otherwise, admission is not possible (see admission deadlines). Personal enrollment in the Admission Office can be done after timely completion of the Programme-PRe-Phase until September 12^th for the winter semester and until February 12^th for the summer semester.

Deadlines for the Programme-PRe-Phase for the winter semester 2025

Application period: April 1, 2025 to September 5, 2025. 

Please note that you must also have completed your Programme-PRe-Phase by then. Please note that admission is only possible in person from July 7, 2025 to September 12, 2025 at the Admissions Office. Admission to a Bachelor's Programme after the general admission period (continuation period until October 31,2025) is only possible in legally stipulated exceptional cases.

The appointment for the personal enrolment in the Admissions Office has to be made within the framework of the online registration. The online registration is possible from the beginning of the general admission period. Upon completion of the aptitude procedure, you will receive an admission code via your account, which you will bring with you to the Admission Office for personal enrolment along with all other required documents for admission.
