The Research Unit Probability (105-07 PROBA) is part of the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics.

Our main area of research is at the crossroads between probability theory and mathematical physics, in particular statistical mechanics.

In this area, our research activities range from out-of-equilibrium statistical physics to the theory of phase transitions, disordered systems, conformal invariance of critical models, discrete random geometry, “integrable probability”, combinatorics and random graphs.

The PROBA teaching activities have also a substantial component in mathematical statistics.
