Diese Programme sind nicht Teil der regulären Austauschabkommen und können in einigen Fällen Studiengebühren beinhalten. Es ist wichtig zu wissen, dass diese Kurzzeitaufenthalte nicht immer in Form von ECTS-Punkten anerkannt werden. Je nach Universität konzentrieren sich die Programme auf den interkulturellen Austausch, die japanische Sprachausbildung, Ingenieurkurse oder individuelle Forschung.
Bevor Sie sich für eine der Sommer- oder Winterschulen bewerben, wenden Sie sich bitte an die JASEC-Mitarbeiter und informieren Sie sich über die spezifischen Anforderungen.
ESEP 2025
University of Tokyo Engineering Summer Program 2025
The University of Tokyo will be holding a Summer Program, called ESEP-G (Engineering Summer Education Program-G) from June 24 to August 1, 2025, for students of partner institutions. This program offers top-class students short-term research experience in the basic and translational sciences in UTokyo's world-leading laboratories.
Regardless of the number of applicants, any eligible student wishing to participate can apply as an individual through the online system.

Ochanomizu University Summer Program 2025
The program offers a unique opportunity for students to engage in courses addressing societal and scientific issues related to Japan, interact with Japanese peers, and explore various aspects of Japanese culture. TU Wien may nominate up to 10 students to participate. The internal deadline is February 24, 2025.
Program Structure:
- The Summer Program includes the Subject-Based Course and the Japanese Language Course.
- The Subject-Based Course consists of Lectures and Project Work.
- The Project Work component will consist of both an online and in-person component.
The online component will begin on July 7, 2025, followed by the in-person component starting on July 23, 2025.
- Japanese Language course may have online sessions with buddy from July 7, 2025.
- Subject-Based Courses and the Japanese Language Course will be conducted in-person starting on July 23, 2025.
Buddy Activities with Ochanomizu University students will begin in Late June but are not part of the formal classes.
Accommodation Arrangements:
Starting in 2025, students will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation in Japan. Unfortunately, our university dormitories will not be available for short-term program participants. However, we can assist with finding accommodation if needed, but students need to make their own reservations. We appreciate your understanding.

JASSO Scholarship:
- Only students applying for the JASSO scholarship are eligible for the Subject-Based Course.
- Students applying for the Japanese Language Course are NOT eligible for the scholarship.

Screening Results:
Selected participants will be notified by the end of April 2025. If scholarships are available, we will inform you about the students selected for the scholarship along with the screening results.

University of Tokyo Summer Internship Program in Kashiwa
The esteemed summer internship program, UTSIP Kashiwa, offers undergraduate students the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on research activities while benefiting from a scholarship.
UTSIP Kashiwa is primarily designed for undergraduate students from overseas institutions who are considering pursuing graduate studies,especially at GSFS. The program serves as an excellent platform for students to immerse themselves in cutting-edge research in both natural and social sciences.

Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) 2024
Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) 2024 will be held in the summer of 2024 at Hokkaido University.
There will be 145 courses (98 graduate courses and 47 undergraduate courses) from June 1st to October 31st, 2024. Each course conducted in English is worth 1 or 2 Japanese credits. Most of the courses run for one or two weeks. Students can tailor their own summer program by combining courses according to their major, interests and their summer schedule.
Attention: As TU Wien as concluded an agreement with HU's School of Engineering, all applicants must choose at least one course from the School of Engineering.

Overview

Engineering Design for Social Resilience
Program Description
Humans and technology can work together to identify societies vulnerabilities for the development of social resilience: the ability to be flexible and recover in the face of numerous global crises such as public health issues like the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and its impacts like heavy rains, and natural disasters like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
This summer program at Tokyo Institute of Technology, which draws in many interested participants, this time will be entitled, “Engineering Design for Social Resilience”. Up-to-date lectures regarding energy, information, health management and social situations in Japan will be included in the program, as well as laboratory activities, a fun Japanese cultural event, and interactive class activities every week. Tokyo Tech offers an opportunity for participants to learn technologies necessary for the near future.

Wir freuen uns, unser Online-Sommerprogramm UTokyo Global Unit Courses (UTokyo GUC) für 2022 anzukündigen.
Wir glauben, dass diese Online- und On-Demand-Kurse eine großartige Gelegenheit für Ihre Studenten sind, die Universität Tokio und Japan auch in der Zeit der Pandemie zu erleben. Die Kursinhalte reichen von Geisteswissenschaften bis hin zu Sozial- und Naturwissenschaften (siehe unten die Liste der Kurse für 2022). Sie werden vollständig in englischer Sprache von hochkarätigen Wissenschaftlern unterrichtet, die hauptamtliche Mitglieder der Universität sind. Darüber hinaus bieten wir auch japanische Sprachkurse an. Die meisten dieser Kurse können in einer Woche absolviert werden, und die Studierenden erhalten nach Abschluss des Kurses eine Global Unit und ein Zertifikat. Um die Kurse erschwinglich zu machen, halten wir die Gebühren auf einem Minimum (50.000 Yen pro Einheit).
Die Kurse 2022 bauen auf dem großen Erfolg auf, den wir im Sommer 2021 hatten.
