Brief Description:

With the EU Green Deal and the introduction of the EU taxonomy, property managers are faced with the urgent task of revitalizing their building stock in a sustainable and resource-conserving manner. In a sustainable circular economy, it is necessary to strategically consider at an early stage how to deal with existing resources, i.e. products and building materials, as part of a building refurbishment - keyword urban mining. However, the long usage cycles of buildings and insufficient information about the building products used in the building, their composition and the quality of the building materials currently make it difficult to assess and plan potential recovery routes (reuse/recycling). As a result, recycling-oriented dismantling only takes place when necessary. Therefore, the reuse of materials and products is extremely rare.

In this context, the CSR:H project aims to develop a simple methodology for digitally recording and designing new business and financing models in order to establish offers for recycling and reusing construction products. The necessary mass and quantity data will be determined using laser and lidar measurements on existing buildings. The aim is to develop a material and resource register that can be used nationwide, thereby increasing resource and material efficiency in the construction industry.
