Welcome to the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation!

The ability to create, model and link spatial data, as well as to communicate it to society and utilize it scientifically, is at the heart of the work at the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation. They are a prerequisite for successfully dealing with the growing challenges in the areas of resource management, urban and natural space development, environmental protection and climate change.

In the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in Geodesy and Geoinformation, we teach these skills and prepare students for future challenges. In addition, our research units are active in the Environmental Engineering degree program, opens in new window and the International Master of Cartography, opens an external URL in a new window.

The Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation consists of eight research units and a total of around 120 employees, including students, who are involved in exciting projects at an early stage. This means that they will be in great demand in various professional fields later on.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Yours sincerely
Prof. Johannes Böhm (Head of the Department)
