Together with the Università degli Studi dell'Aquila (Italy), the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain), the Universität Côte d'Azur in Nizza (France) and the Universität Hamburg (Germany) the TU Wien offers the international MSc degree programme Interdisciplinary Mathematics.

Since the study year 2021/22 this degree programme is funded by the Erasmus Mundus Programme, opens an external URL in a new window. The project "SFB PDE: Taming Complexity in Partial Differential Systems" (funded by FWF from March 2021 to February 2025) combines theoretical, numerical, and computational techniques from the fields of physics, biology and engineering. It has created a strongly connected research network with nodes at the University of Vienna, TU Wien, and the Institute of Science and Technology (IST) Austria. The Vienna School of Mathematics is a cooperation of the mathematics institutions of the University of Vienna and TU Wien, which provides a top-level doctoral programme for students from around the world in all fields of mathematics. The Vienna Center for Partial Differential Equations is an initiative to bundle the excellence in the research on Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) in Vienna, to strengthen the Viennese PDE activities, and to provide a contact point for interdisciplinary projects involving PDEs in applications.
