ORAL PRESENTATIONS

For invited speakers, the duration of a presentation slot is 45 minutes: 35 minutes for the presentation itself and 10 minutes for questions from the audience.

For all other speakers, a presentation slot is 15 minutes: 10 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions from the audience.

A projector and a computer will be available in the conference room. PLEASE BRING A MEMORY STICK WITH YOUR PRESENTATION FILE!

Preparation of Visuals

  • Please bring your presentation in either PPTX or PDF format.
  • Files can be uploaded to the local PC in the lecture rooms during the coffee breaks or at lunch. Use of your own computer will only be permitted for special circumstances.
  • To avoid software compatibility problems with PowerPoint files, speakers are advised to bring a backup PDF version of their presentation.
  • Speakers should arrive in the conference room 15 MINUTES BEFORE the start of their session to report to the session chair. Assistance will be available in case of technical issues.

General Considerations

  • Limit the number of words per visual to no more than 20.
  • Leave space, at least the height of a capital letter, between lines of text.
  • All fonts, including that on graphs, should be 18 point or larger.
  • Graphs and charts should have bold lines and symbols that contrast sharply with the background.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS

The recommended poster format is portrait A0 (84.1 cm width x 118.9 cm height). Double sided adhesive tape will be available in the poster area to put the posters on the poster boards.

Authors are required to print their own poster and are responsible for hanging up their poster before the start of the session and of removing them after the session end. The respective room will be open from 9:00. Please place your poster on the assigned board.
