Initial exhibition "wAy to Be" at the TU Wien, 23.-27.09.2024

The new cycle of Cultural Collisions focusses on a highly topical, politically and socially emotionally debated topic: mobility and its role in climate change. The two exhibition spaces include stations designed by students with extensive knowledge on the topic, as well as a creative exploration of it by artists.

At Fairstreetcampus, everything revolves around the aspect of space distribution in the street space. Visitors are shown how much space we give to which uses and why this is also a question of fairness. Subsequently, there will be the opportunity to individually redesign this distribution of space.

The Mobil.Phone station is all about the mobility of products, exemplified by the components of a product of everyday use: the smartphone. Global raw material and manufacturing chains are traced in order to illustrate the many different routes taken by the individual components that ultimately make up our smartphones.

The aspect of tourism is an essential and very emotional component in the discussion about mobility. What impact does my choice of transportation have on the environment? Should I still get on an airplane to reach my vacation destination? How does my choice of vacation destination affect my ecological footprint?
