INFRASTRUKTURINITIATIVE RAILWAY STATION NEW BUILD

The aim of this project work is the comprehensive interdisciplinary processing of a realistic task from the field of civil engineering. This time the topic is ‘INFRASTRUKTURINITIATIVE - RAILWAY STATION NEW BUILD’. The Pottendorfer line is being expanded to two tracks as an alternative and supplementary route for the southern railway.

Task:

The task includes the redesign of the station in Münchendorf, Lower Austria. High-quality structural and spatial solutions are to be developed using concrete for roofing, an underpass and a forecourt. The innovative concrete solution includes a modern acoustic concept to meet the locally required noise protection regulations. The interdisciplinary approach in teams with engineers and architects is at the forefront and is also intensively supervised as such by the Institute of Structural Engineering 2, Concrete Construction and the Department of Interdisciplinary Construction Planning.
