Under the motto “Mission Future - Rethinking Business and Technology”, current trends, challenges and solutions as well as scenarios will be presented in Vienna on March 12 and 13, 2025 in order to survive in global competition.

The forum, organized by the German Chamber of Commerce in Austria (DHK) in cooperation with Fraunhofer Austria, will provide numerous presentations and discussion rounds. In spring 2025, this will take place at the Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof with a focus on transformation processes, the shortage of skilled workers and the use of AI in industry. The focus will be on global perspectives on business and technology as well as detailed aspects from SMEs and the start-up scene.

Focus on competitiveness

Company representatives from AVL List, Fill and Plasser & Theurer have confirmed their attendance as speakers. The dinner night will open with a keynote speech from Microsoft Austria. Afterwards, representatives from Siemens AG Austria and STIWA Holding, among others, will discuss the topic of “Digital infrastructure - perspectives from the industry”. Numerous well-known companies such as Beckhoff Automation, Festo, msg Plaut, Nortal, Phoenix Contact, Pilz, Rittal, Dr. Sasse Facility and the Association of the Metalworking Industry will be supporting the bilateral exchange and will be on hand to answer questions.

Sustainability.change.digitalization.future perspectives.

The event, organized by DHK and Fraunhofer Austria, offers a unique platform for exchange with CEOs and experts from business and science. The focus is on future-oriented topics such as sustainability for industrial companies, the transformation of the energy industry, the effects of the shortage of skilled workers, success factors of digitalization and automation as well as future prospects for people and technology.

Prof. Dr. Wilfried Sihn, Senior Advisor at Fraunhofer Austria Research, has once again agreed to moderate the Technology Forum 2025.

Inspiring presentations and discussions

DI (FH) Hermann Erlach, MBA, MSc will give the keynote speech on the opening evening of the 8th German-Austrian Technology Forum 2025. Hermann Erlach has been General Manager of Microsoft Austria since May 2021. His goal in this role is to drive forward the modernization and digitalization of the location and to make this progress a positive experience for all Austrians.
