Between October 2015 and October 2023 he served as Vice Rector for Adademic Affairs at TU Wien. Since 2023 he is the Ombudsperson for Studies and Teaching at TU Wien. Since 2006 he has been serving as a Vice President of the Austrian Association of Industrial Engineers WING.  His research topics are Product Management, Logistics, Maintenance and Availability.

Rick Hefner, öffnet eine externe URL in einem neuen Fenster has specialized in system development and maintenance project management, Lean Six Sigma, process improvement, technology transfer for over 35 years. He most recently served as director of process management at Northrop Grumman Corporation, where he led corporate process initiatives related to Lean Six Sigma and program management. He has written over 200 publications and gives numerous lectures.

Being a visionary transformer and board member, he is an international speaker on topics such as leadership, supply chain, manufacturing and business strategy and has been a lecturer on leadership, supply chain and other topics for more than ten years. He has published numerous articles on the topic of leadership.
