Overview

These quality principles form the framework for the development of the QMS and demonstrate how quality is defined at TU Wien.

Principle 1: High-quality performance is delivered by highly trained and committed employees and students alike. Employees from all levels and areas, as well as their students, are at the very core of TU Wien. By involving them, TUW can use their abilities to its advantage. Their contribution should be increased through personnel development measures and by creating an attractive working environment.
Principle 2: High-quality performance is based on transparent and effective processes. In accordance with this principle, TUW strongly believes that a desired result is achieved in a more effective manner when the activities required are managed as a process and when all members of TUW are aware of this.
Principle 3: High-quality performance is promoted through the effective and efficient use of resources. This principle combines leadership with an ongoing focus on targets within a changing environment. Managers define an assignment formulation and create a climate where employees play a role in achieving TUW’s targets.

TU Wien takes international criteria and standards into account in its quality assurance and quality development. When determining its course of action and selecting tools, TUW compares itself with other universities. While these are mainly Austrian universities, they also include international institutions such as ETH Zurich.
