Requirements

  1. the doctoral degree must not yet have been awarded by the dean of academic affairs. If you have already received a diploma, a promotio sub auspiciis is no longer possible!
  2. duration of studies: the required duration of studies must not exceed the average duration of study for the respective programme. However, a longer duration of study may be excused if there are valid reasons (e.g. illness)
  3. the final years of a higher secondary school must have been completed with “distinction”
  4. the school leaving examination ("Matura") must have been completed with “distinction”
  5. the completed studies must have been completed with “distinction”
    - diploma programme: Completion of all examination subjects with “Sehr gut” (excellent) and an ecaluation of the diploma thesis with “Sehr gut” (excellent)
    - bachelor and master programme: Completion of all modules of the bachelor and master programme with “Sehr gut” (excellent) and an evaluation of the thesis with “Sehr gut” (excellent)
    - doctoral programme: Evaluation of the dissertation with “Sehr gut” (excellent) and the rigorosum with “Sehr gut” (excellent)
