Three of four new Vice Rectors of TU Wien were unanimously elected by the University Council today. The team of the designated Rector Jens Schneider will consist of four Vice Rectors, whereby the application process for the Vice Rector Human Resources has not yet been completed. That function will be filled before the summer.

"The three candidates were convincing as a team, with each personality bringing the decisive qualifications for their department as well as innovative and implementation strengths. I would like to thank the Senate for its constructive participation in the election process and wish the new Rectorate every success," said University Council Chairman Peter Oswald after the election. Senate President Norbert Pfeifer explains: "The Senate has intensively dealt with the proposed Vice Rectors, welcomes their extensive experience, both internationally and at TU Wien, and looks forward to working with the new team". Rector-designate Jens Schneider is pleased about this confirmation of his team: “I am grateful and proud that these outstanding personalities are willing to form the new rectorate team with me and that we have received the trust of the Senate and the University Council. With our different backgrounds, we complement each other exceptionally well. We are very much looking forward to the trustful cooperation with the entire TU Wien community."

Thus, the Rectorate of TU Wien for the term of office October 1, 2023 - September 30, 2027 (provisionally) consists of:

After the hearing, the elected rector prepared his election proposal for the vice rectors and submits it to the senate for comment. The Vice Rectors were elected by the University Council on the proposal of the Rector and after hearing the Senate for a four-year period of office.
