• For Bachelor's students: first year of study (about 60 ECTS) must be successfully completed at the time of application.
• For Master's students who did not complete their Bachelor's degree at TUW: the first semester at TUW must be completed at the time of application.

The application process consists of two steps:

1. Application directly on the ATHENS portal:
   Selection of proper courses according to your study programme + online application with your TUW email address at https://register.athensnetwork.eu. Please consider the prerequisites in the course description and select the courses according to your requirements (e.g. subject-related knowledge, required study level/progress). For better chances, select at least 4 courses, but be aware that you may also be nominated for the 4th choice.
2. Application on the TU Wien mobility portal ‘TUW Mobility Online’:
   Fill out the application form and then upload the following documents: ATHENS application (signed) + latest transcript of records.

Please note: your ATHENS application can only be accepted once both steps have been completed.

After nomination:

• Spots are allocated by the ATHENS central coordination office in Paris. Approximately 1 week after the application deadline, you will find information on acceptance/rejection in your ATHENS account.
• You will be informed about the possibility of a scholarship and all further steps (declaration of acceptance) by email and on TUW Mobility Online.

• One week intensive course in English (at French universities the teaching language might be French – therefore, please have a detailed look at the course description).
• Each year in the third week of November and in the third week of March.
• About 30 units of teaching + mandatory social programme „European Dimension Activities“ (EDA). NB: EDA participation fee possible (approx. EUR 40,-; depends on host university).
• 2 ECTS (3 ECTS for ATHENS/Erasmus-BIP courses). After return: course can be recognized as “Freies Wahlfach” if successfully completed.
• Your application is binding. Only apply if you are available for the period of the ATHENS Week (which means that you will not be at TU Wien and in Vienna for one week).
