Prof. Thomas Czerny´s main area of research is cell signaling. At FH Campus Wien he started with the exploitation of the highly sensitive signaling processes in the cell for the detection of external factors like stress andtoxins. He developed luciferase-based reporter cell lines for the sensitive detection of cellular stress, type 4 allergy and mutagenic compounds and applied these tools to the analysis of medical devices and food packaging. He has extensive experience in teaching and supervised 13 PhD students.

Prof. Margit Gföhler´s main areas of research are modeling, simulation, and optimization of the human musculoskeletal and cardiovascular system and design and development of assistive devices in rehabilitation engineering and in cardiovascular engineering. Over the last 25 years, she was responsible for a number of nationally and internationally funded research projects focused on cardiovascular engineering. She is author of about 150 peer-reviewed publications and co-inventor of 10 patents.

Priv.-Doz. Dr. Ioanna Giouroudi is a Senior Scientist and the Head of the TU Wien Doctoral School. She has over 20 years research experience in the fields of materials science, biotechnology and biomedical engineering. Her research focuses on the study of biomaterials, on portable diagnostic systems which can operate outside a laboratory environment and on targeted drug delivery and therapeutic systems utilizing magnetic methods. She has over 15 years of student supervision and teaching experience at universities and extended experience in project management both, in academia and industry.

Prof. Andreas Otto is an internationally renowned expert in laser material processing with a strong background in physics and manufacturing technology. He has been working in the field of photonic technologies for over 30 years with a strong focus on process diagnostics and simulation.He is author of about 150 peer-reviewed publications and was invited or keynote speaker at the occasion of about 25 international conferences.

Institute of Materials Science and Technology, TU Wien

Dr. Aleksandr Ovsianikov is Professor and the Head of the research group 3D Printing and Biofabrication. His research is dealing with the use of additive manufacturing technologies and bioprinting for tissue engineering and regeneration. Dr. Ovsianikov was awarded prestigious ERC Starting Grant in 2012 and an ERC Consolidator Grant in 2017 for projects aimed at these topics. He is also a co-founder and a head of research of a TU Wien spin-off UpNano.

Dr. Marianne Raith is a molecular cell biologist, and her work emphasizes on the study of molecular mechanisms of gene regulation in eukaryotic cells. In recent years, the focus of her research has been on the analysis of the role of epithelial cells in type I allergy and on the molecular, biochemical and immunological characterization of allergens. She has supervised several Bachelor, Master and Diploma students and co-supervised PhD students.

Prof. Ines Swoboda is a renowned expert in Molecular Immunology and Allergology. Her research centers around the molecular and immunological characterization of allergens, the study of the pathomechanisms of allergic diseases and the development of molecules for improved diagnosis and treatment of allergies. In recent years the study of the biocompatibility of and the immune responses to medical devices became a further focus of her research. She successfully supervised many PhD, Master, Bachelor and Diploma students and she has an outstanding publication record, with more than 140 scientific publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
