Short CV

Somin Jeon graduated with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Stuttgart in 2022. In her bachelor's thesis, she focused on 3D CFD simulations of urea injection for SCR catalysis using OpenFOAM and Paraview. Her master's thesis explored the experimental investigation of failure behavior in non-technical materials (canvas) through MATLAB/Simulink, coupled with simulations in Abaqus FEA. From 2019 to 2021, Ms. Jeon worked as an intern and working student at Daimler AG, where she created parameterized CAD models for early-stage development across various model series. From 2022 to 2024, she worked as a Mechanical Hardware Test Engineer at Magna Powertrain AG in the eDrive Inverter Test Team, focusing on ensuring mechanical requirements for inverter development.

Since November 2024, she has been working as a research assistant in the Research Area of Mechanical Engineering Informatics and Virtual Product Development (MIVP) at TU Wien.

Resarch Interests

Mrs. Jeon is actively involved in the Research Lin-X/AMIDS project, which focuses on cross-company co-design and co-production through innovative data and networking structures, with collaboration between TU Wien and Pilotfabrik.
