The laboratory of the research group Engineering Design and Material Handling has a wide range of equipment for experimental research, including:

  •     Materials testing machine 250 kN (ZwickRoell Z250).
  •     Wheel-rail test stand
  •     Devices for calibrating bulk material properties for DEM simulations (bulk material simulations)
  •     Tekscan system and FUJI pressure measurement films for surface pressure measurements
  •     Various force, displacement and acceleration transducers
  •     Draw-wire displacement sensors (measuring range 1000 mm and 50000 mm)
  •     Optical precision micrometer (CCD line detector from Micro-Epsilon)
  •     Equipment for strain measurement (DMS measurement technology), in particular the possibility of measuring bolt pretensioning forces
