The Smart Energy Systems Week Austria Conference, encapsulated this year a greater field of topics in the domains of energy-subsystems and infrastructures (grids, buildings, traffic system) and their interaction (linking sectors, building to grid, vehicle to grid, etc.) was held in Vienna. About 300 national and international experts got together. The topics of the conference have been interesting as well as pioneering for the research in Austria. The Energy & IT group was present on site on the Start-up & Innovation Days as invited speakers about the topic of machine learning and blockchain technology. We presented posters to the ongoing projects Inge, eNDUSTRIE 4.0 and other projects. Our presence was strengthened by our information booth, where details for teaching and courses of studies of the TU Wien were available. The coffee breaks and the sumptuous buffet formed the appropriate atmosphere to create new contacts.
