Scientific support and supervision of the trials for energy optimization, sludge treatment (EOS) in the ebswien main wastewater treatment plant

Short description:

Vienna's main sewage treatment plant is already energy-efficient, but in the future it is to cover its entire electricity requirements itself and perhaps even produce a surplus. This will be possible by extracting valuable methane from the digested sludge, which can then be used to generate electricity directly in the plant. Scientific support for the project has been provided by the TU Wien from the very beginning.
