BIM for LCS - Building Information Modelling for Life Cycle Structures

Decisions on the use of ecological, economic and social resources for the construction of buildings accompany these buildings throughout their lives. Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems are the first to create the prerequisites for making these decisions in the early stages of the planning process. In this context, BIM as a tool has the potential to fundamentally change the planning process in the direction of integral planning practice. The new challenges arise from the tension between technology, process and people. Architects and engineers, scientists and users from many fields spent two days discussing the status and future of this planning revolution. For the 21st time, the Chair of Industrial Construction and Interdisciplinary Construction Planning at the Vienna University of Technology hosted top-class lectures and discussions as well as an international exchange of ideas.
