Design-to-Production was founded in 2007 by Fabian Scheurer and Arnold Walz. The computer scientist and the architect realised at the time that they were working at the beginning and end of the same digital process chain, but that there was hardly any connection between them. So they became the first to offer production-oriented data modelling as an independent service. Hanno Stehling joined the team in 2009.

Based in a former textile factory in Erlenbach near Zurich and in Stuttgart, the company has now realised over 35 pioneering projects - in collaboration with renowned architecture studios such as SANAA, UN Studio, Zaha Hadid, Shigeru Ban and Renzo Piano.
