Ready for the winter semester 2024!?

After the summer break, it's time for the new semester! From September 5th, 2024, students can register for the courses of the winter semester 2024 in TISS. For first-year students, the orientation week, opens an external URL in a new window is offered in the first week of October, as well as the planning studio, opens an external URL in a new window throughout the semester.

Other compulsory courses in the Bachelor's degree program are the lecture on the fundamentals of regional planning, opens an external URL in a new window, the lecture exercise on planning theory and ethics, opens an external URL in a new window and the project on spatial development planning (“Project 2”), this time in the Strudengau, opens an external URL in a new window Nord region in Upper Austria.

This semester, Bachelor elective module 6 is offered by the research unit: This includes the courses Tourism Analysis and Sustainable Tourism Planning, opens an external URL in a new window, and Tourism and Planning, opens an external URL in a new window.

For Master's students, the courses Research and Planning Design, opens an external URL in a new window, Integrated Development Planning, opens an external URL in a new window - A Planning Game for Transformation and the Diploma Seminar Region, opens an external URL in a new window will take place.

As part of the Master's elective modules, there are six exciting courses on offer this semester by the Research Unit for Regional Planning and Regional Development:

The seminar Ethics of Planning, opens an external URL in a new window (all elective modules), the excursion viewing, communicating and plannung space, opens an external URL in a new window (elective modules 3 and 8), the excursion Experiencing Japan - Part 1: Hospitality, opens an external URL in a new window (elective modules 1 and 3) - Part 2 will take place in summer semester 2025! -, the project Rural Areas: Strategies, Concepts and Implementation, opens an external URL in a new window (elective modules 2 and 3), the project Positive Energy Districts 3.0, opens an external URL in a new window, which is organized in cooperation with the University of Belgrade and the Technical University of Bratislava, and the lecture exercise Activating Vacant Buildings via interim use, opens an external URL in a new window.

As every winter semester, a lecture in the Bachelor's degree program in Environmental Engineering (Settlement Development and Spatial Planning, opens an external URL in a new window) and a lecture in the Master's degree program in Civil Engineering (Spatial Planning, opens an external URL in a new window) are also offered by the Research Unit.
