TU Wien puts people, creativity and interdisciplinary exchange at the centre. With our vision ‘TU Wien - where we dare to reason. The creative urban tech university. Unlimited.’, we strive to create an environment in which scientific excellence, openness and the courage to think in new ways are encouraged. This vision goes far beyond rigid key figures and motivates us to meet the challenges of a changing world together - be it in research, teaching or administration.

The 8 strategic goals of TU Wien

In order to realise our vision, we have defined eight central strategic goals:

  Achieving top international positions and increasing attractiveness for global talent.

  Optimal alignment with the needs of students and society.

  Establishing an environment that favours creative exchange and bold ideas.

  Integrating sustainable solutions and promoting urban transformation.
• Leading role in knowledge exchange and innovation:
  Positioning as a central authority for the transfer of knowledge and innovation - nationally and internationally.
• Community and belonging:
  Strengthening the cohesion of all TUW members and promoting an inclusive working environment.

Here we go: implementation phase and call for projects

The publication of the strategy paper marks the start of the next phase of our joint development. The strategy will not only be discussed internally, but actively brought to life - and that starts now!

The Call for Projects, where innovative projects can be submitted with immediate effect, is particularly worth emphasising. With funding totalling 2.6 million euros, the Rectorate is sending out a clear signal that we are ready to put creative and bold ideas into practice. This call is the starting signal for numerous initiatives that concretely integrate our vision and strategic orientation into everyday work and further advance TU Wien as a leading institution.

The Call for Projects is an internal TUW funding opportunity for one-off initiatives as well as for short and long-term projects:
