New perspectives for the Strudengau Nord region

As part of the Regional Development Planning project, 21 students in 6 groups developed drafts for a regional development concept for the Upper Austrian region of Strudengau Nord.

In January 2025, the students presented the results of their projects on site in the region and received a lot of positive feedback from the planning world and interested citizens.

In terms of content, the students impressed with their focus on regional energy supply, culture, the city (region) of short distances, vacancy activation, Baukultur and redensification:

  • The zam am Hang (together on the hill) group dedicated its lead project to the innovative concept of Agri-PV.
  • The Mehr als nur Wohnen (more than just living) group planned a landscape culture tour.
  • In Kuppenland (land of hills), street spaces were designed for 5-minute places.
  • The Leben mit Weitblick group (live with vision) called for economic spaces to be preserved and vacancies to be used.
  • The group of the same name explored courtyards for arriving and staying.
  • The group erLEB DICHt NEU (rediscover density/rediscover yourself) wants to breathe new life into courtyards.
