Another piece of the PhD research of Dr. Katarina Knežević has just been published!
As part of the interdisciplinary collaboration within the Bioactive Doctoral College at TU Wien, this paper presents the results of the investigation of membrane performance for erythritol broth desalination by electrodialysis to reduce erythritol losses and increase current efficiency.
The study demonstrates that a step-wise voltage approach leads to fewer product losses than controlling ED by constant current. Erythritol losses were only 2% for the 94.8% desalination rate.
