.dcall 2021: Transformation in teaching and studying

Last but not least: The last blog post on the projects of the .dcall 2021 we dedicate to the two eTUcation projects that were accompanied within the framework of the .dcall.

[Translate to English:] .dcall 2021: Transformation im Lehr- und Studienbetrieb

In the "Strategic Education Development Center", two projects of the Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs were implemented within the framework of .dcall 2021. Both projects have achieved their set goals and will subsequently be further developed in their own department under the eTUcation program.

Digital Approval Workflow

The standardization and digitalization of workflows not only simplify processes, but also render them transparent so that the status can be seen by everyone involved at all times. This is why the project team has been working on the "Digital Approval Workflow". The goal is that both the Admissions Office and the Dean's Offices are relieved. For this purpose, the requirements and the legal basis were collected in the analysis phase and the interfaces involved were documented. As a result, a process was developed on the basis of the information collected and a pilot operation was tested in the Jira task management system with the involvement of selected Dean’s Offices and the Admissions Office.

Barrier-free access to teaching videos

TU Wien wants to be as inclusive as possible and give everyone the opportunity to teach and learn at TU Wien. One of the measures taken in this direction is the project "Barrier-free access to teaching videos". The objective of the project, the publication of a guide for the creation of accessible teaching videos, was successfully achieved. The legal framework as well as topics such as data protection and copyright, were integrated into the guide and a training concept for lecturers in the form of video tutorials was provided. Finally, a selected course was chosen as a pilot lecture and the guide was implemented in practice.
