Inner-city overheating affects the majority of European cities. This course explored solutions in the form of temporary, transportable structures. Through their designs, students of architecture and civil engineering proved how Design for Disassembly priciples enables load-bearing structures to be flexible and easily implemented or reconfigured. The main focus was placed on the material, wood, in its various parameters: mass, bending element, surface.

Lennart Hamm completed his Master of Science at the Faculty of Architecture at TUWien in June 2024 under the supervision of Prof. Iris Mach and Prof. Oliver Englhardt.

He is currently a University Assistant in our Research Unit. The team to which Lennart belongs focuses on investigating collaborative robotics to support construction processes such as joining and separating components. They are exploring principles like circular construction, Form Follows Availability and Design for Disassembly with the aim of developing practical solutions.
