The media regularly reports on "years of legal disputes" regarding major projects such as electricity lines, ski resorts, airport runways or hydropower plants. Court decisions on their approval or refusal also often make the headlines. The proceedings frequently focus on aspects of environmental law. In this seminar we want to take a closer look at the following questions: What are currently the “most burning” issues in environmental law? How do these come before the apex courts? Who can raise which objections? In the introductory session, students can choose a court decision that they want to present and discuss. The seminar begins with a practical insight from a representative of an NGO and is rounded off with the simulation of a court hearing in the last session.
