In the context of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the study department of Local and Spatial Planning at TU Wien, 50 years of ifoer at TU Wien provide an opportunity to discuss the current challenges for research, teaching and practice. The multiple crises of our time challenge local authorities at all levels. Exemplary solutions become concrete at the municipal level. In exchange with colleagues from planning practice, the special challenges for sustainable and resilient spatial development and exemplary solutions for the transformation and renewal of existing buildings will be discussed and illustrated.
