Prof. Rechberger presented the macroeconomic analysis of the plastic packaging cycle at the Venice 2024. This research is being conducted by Stefani Rivić in her dissertation and examines the extent to which various measures, such as a minimum recyclate usage rate, are effective in increasing the recycling rate or are effective in stabilizing recyclate sales in the face of volatile crude oil prices. 

The session, led by Raffaello Cossu, and the presentation in particular met great interest, as the example of the plastic packaging cycle showed that it is possible to generate sound systemic understanding of the circular economy and to make decisions in a much more fact-based way than is the case today.
