Smart Rail Via Vindobona - Review

On January 28 and 29, 2025, the Smart Rail Via Vindobona conference took place for the first time at TU Wien, organized by the Research Unit of Track-bound Transportation Systems. 75 international guests and speakers from the countries along the Via Vindobona – Germany, Czech Republic and Austria – as well as from Denmark, Switzerland, Slovakia and Hungary were able to follow high-level presentations on the railway axis Vienna-Prague-Dresden-Berlin and other highly interesting topics. On the second day they took part in two exciting excursions to the Semmering Base Tunnel and the ÖBB maintenance depot in Vienna Simmering (review of the conference).
