Information Delivery Specification (IDS) is an open standard for defining information requirements for BIM models. IDS is quickly becoming established in the openBIM community, but its potential is rarely exploited. In practice, the required properties are classically defined in tabular form for each entity. However, IDS offers far more possibilities for defining both the requirements themselves and the affected elements in a more specific way. The difference between the hierarchical form of IDS and the classic tabular form of information requirements has so far limited the exploitation of the potential of IDS. This paper presents a concept that bridges the gap between these two structures. Starting from the classic tabular form, the table is extended step by step. The logic of the classic table remains in place, enabling the new structure to support both simple property definitions and the full functionality of IDS.
