Coming soon: New Ab-initio Light-Matter Group

The new research group will officially start in August. We are searching for PhD students already now!

Christian Schäfer will join our institute in August and lead the new Ab-initio Light-Matter Group. Aims of the research are

Development of theoretical tools to describe the self-consistent and non-perturbative interaction between (quantized) electromagnetic fields and realistic matter from first principles
Advancing green chemistry via polaritonic chemistry, plasmonic catalysis, and chiral polaritonics
Predicting novel quantum-impurity systems, exploring quantum scrambling, and developing near-term quantum algorithms
