On the occasion of the IAU 2024 International Conference, opens an external URL in a new window in Tokyo in November 2024, our colleague Dario Vins talked to Mrs Trine Jensen, IAU, about the IAU’s views on how universities navigate increasing digitalization and global challenges.

Trine Jensen

Trine Jensen leads the work on the strategic priority Higher Education & Digital Transformation, opens an external URL in a new window at the International Association of Universities (IAU). She is spearheading projects spanning policy-shaping, strategy, advocacy, and monitoring of the digital transformation of higher education with global partners. She is the author of the IAU Global Monitoring Report on Higher Education in the Digital Era: The Current State of Transformation around the World (2019), opens an external URL in a new window and leads the IAU Policy Statement: “Transforming Higher Education for the Global Common Good in a Digital World” in collaboration with an international Expert Advisory Group. In 2019, she launched a new IAU programme entitled “Institutional site visits” fostering international peer-to-peer learning in relation to the digital transformation of higher education institutions. Mrs Jensen is also co-editor of the Association’s magazine IAU Horizons, opens an external URL in a new window. Trine Jensen worked for several years for UNESCO as part of the Bureau for Strategic Planning before she joined the IAU in 2012.
