Minister of the Interior, Dr. Joachim Herrmann, informed himself about the activities and projects of TU Wien

On February 12th, 2025, the second ‘Aerospace Aviation Congress Interdisciplinary International’ took place in Nuremberg, which was co-organised by the Research Unit Machine Elements and Transmissions for Aviation. On this day, representatives from science and industry met to discuss aerospace topics with representatives from politics (including the Bavarian Minister of the Interior, Dr Joachim Herrmann), industry associations and research funding organisations. These discussions were of particular importance in light of the ambitious climate targets (climate neutrality by 2050).

Prof Weigand headed the ‘Aviation’ topic area and and also presented the activities of TU Wien. The latest decisions by OEMs such as Airbus show that TU Vienna is at the forefront, particularly in the focus of work in the field of so-called geared turbofans.

In addition to its own presentations and panels, TU Wien was also represented with a stand at the accompanying exhibition.
