Prof. Reinhard Haas from TU Wien, academic director of the MSc (CE) Renewable Energy Systems, opened the session with a powerful introduction, highlighting the disruptive potential of solar energy in driving sustainability. Herbert Brandner, representing Wien Energie and a proud MSc Renewable Energy Systems alumnus, followed with a deep dive into the latest PV projects by his company. Brandner shared how his academic journey shaped his career and the innovative solar initiatives at Wien Energie.

Jonathan Lunzer from ÖBB showcased how Austria’s railway system is integrating PV projects to enhance sustainability on a large scale, leaving the audience impressed with the forward-thinking approach. Jiri Bim of ZENERGO Energy rounded out the session with a detailed look at AgriPV regulations in the Czech Republic, underscoring how the right policies can accelerate renewable energy growth.
