Since March, teaching at the TU Wien and the Continuing Education Center had been suspended due to Covid-19. On July 2, this long break was finally over and classroom lectures in European and International Business Law were held at the TU Wien, with special consideration of special and security requirements.

The module started with the lecture on IP Law (Intellectual Property). Patent attorney Mr. DI Johannes Strobl gave a lecture on how students can assess what kind of IP rights are available and how these rights can be used. Afterwards, Hon.-Prof. Walter Brugger, founding partner of the law firm DORDA, gave the students a general understanding of international commercial law and familiarized them with the concepts of corporate law, antitrust (competition) law as well as warranty, damages and product liability. In the lecture, students were given an overview of various areas of commercial law and the main implications for business practice and can decide in which situation a lawyer is needed. Mr. DI Hanno Miorini from Bosch Austria introduced the students to key issues for OEMs and suppliers. They also gained knowledge about the real life handling of contracts between OEMs and suppliers.

Due to travel restrictions, students from the Philippines, Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates could not attend the lecture. But after the long break, the lecture gave the students a good opportunity to meet again and share their experiences.

The Professional MBA Automotive Industry starts again in October. Apply until July 31! Learn more about the program.
