All winners and nominees of the Best Teaching Awards 2022

On October 13, the Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs invited to the 6th Best Teaching Awards. In the ceremonial setting of the Kuppelsaal, particularly committed teachers and positively experienced lectures were honored.

The event was opened by Kurt Matyas, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. Before the actual awards were presented, the individual nominees were introduced in more detail based on comments from students.

The Best Teacher Award was presented to dedicated teachers of the TU Wien who have held lectures in past academic year. The overall teaching performance and not a specific lecture is decisive. The finalists for the Best Teacher Award 2022 were three persons per faculty. For the first time, lecturers from the TU Wien ACE were also nominated in a separate category.

For the ACE, Johann Fellner was awarded the Best Teacher Award 2022.
Johann Fellner is lecturer of the MSc Environmental Technology & International Affairs. He is Associate Professor for Waste Management at TU Wien. Since 2012 he is heading the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Anthropogenic Resources, a temporary research center that aims at enhancing the sustainable utilization of man-made resources. Besides his work in different national and international organizations (ISWA International Solid Waste Association, IWWG International Waste Working Group, ÖWAV Austrian Association for Water and Waste Management) he is Associate Editor of Waste Management journal (Elsevier).

We warmly congratulate Johann Fellner on this award.
