The Research Unit of Photogrammetry at the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation, TU Wien is currently looking to recruit a motivated

Student Assistant (f/m/d)

In the CS4SEHAG project we aim to improve our understanding on the impacts of climate change on selected alpine valleys (Kaunertal and Martelltal) through citizen science. Hence, to strengthen our team we are looking for a skilled student interested in photogrammetry and geospatial sciences starting with April 2024 for 10 hours per week.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and processing of images uploaded by citizens (e.g. refinement of image orientation)
  • Test and evaluation of our citizen science app (e.g. test new functionalities before release)
  • Supporting communication with citizens (e.g. writing blog posts, creating content for social media,…)

Your Profile:

  • Enrollment in a related study programme at TUW, preferable Geodesy and Geoinformation or Environmental Engineering
  • Basic knowledge in photogrammetry (e.g. image orientation, terminology)
  • Experience with image processing
  • Interest in programming (Python or other, e.g. JavaScript)

  • The salary for this position (10h/week) is based on the Austrian regulations for university staff and is € 639,94. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year. The position will be limited to one year with the possibility for an extension.
